Science and Technology Committee

Responsibility of the Science and Technology Committee

The Science and Technology Committee assists and advises the Board on science and technology matters.  The Committee's duties include:

  • overseeing Baxter's research and development ("R&D") strategies and objectives, including with respect to Baxter Ventures;
  • reviewing Baxter's R&D pipeline and significant technology platforms; and
  • evaluating emerging issues and trends in science and technology that may affect Baxter's overall business strategy.

In addition, retired director Joseph B. Martin, M.D., Ph.D., the Edward R. and Anne G. Lefler Professor of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School and Dean of the Harvard Faculty of Medicine from July 1997 to July 2007, continues to participate in the work of the Science and Technology Committee.
