David P. Scharf

Corporate Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

David P. Scharf is corporate vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary of Baxter.

 

Scharf joined Baxter in 2005 and most recently served as corporate vice president, deputy general counsel, and corporate secretary. Scharf joined Baxter from Guidant Corporation, where he served as associate general counsel with responsibilities for corporate governance, complex transactions, and capital market matters. Prior to Guidant, Scharf handled similar matters as assistant general counsel with Sears, Roebuck and Co. and was an associate with Baker & Daniels.

 

Scharf received his law degree from the University of Chicago, where he was a member of the law review, and his bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana University. Prior to law school, Scharf worked in foreign exchange derivatives for a predecessor of UBS.
